Former Champ's Style Echoes in Dubois, Says Joshua: "Different From My Approach"

Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois are getting ready for a big fight this weekend. The two heavyweights will face off at Wembley Stadium in front of 96,000 fans, setting a new record for attendance.

Joshua wants to become a three-time world champion. He held three of the four major heavyweight titles from 2018 to 2020, with a brief break when he lost to Andy Ruiz Jr. But he got those belts back in a rematch. Then, he lost his titles to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022.

Now, Joshua's on a roll. He's won his last four fights, knocking out three of his opponents. He beat Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin, and Francis Ngannou. He's looking to keep that momentum going against Dubois.

Dubois is 27 years old and hits hard. He's had chances at the title before, like when he fought Oleksandr Usyk and lost by knockout. But he keeps getting more opportunities. Joshua talked about this in an interview with DAZN:

"[Dubois] keeps getting opportunity after opportunity. It reminds me of the Frank Bruno story. He had opportunity after opportunity to become the heavyweight world champion and finally achieved it."

Dubois now holds the IBF title. He got upgraded from interim to full champion after Usyk became the undisputed heavyweight champion and vacated the belt. Dubois earned his spot with an impressive win over Filip Hrgovic.

When asked if Dubois reminded him of a younger version of himself, Joshua was clear in a DAZN feature:

"No, there is only one."

The heavyweight boxing world has seen some big changes lately. Oleksandr Usyk became the undisputed champion by beating Tyson Fury. That's what led to the IBF title being up for grabs, which Dubois now holds.

Both fighters have a lot on the line this weekend. Joshua wants to prove he's still at the top of the heavyweight division, while Dubois aims to show he belongs there. It's set to be a thrilling fight with two hard-hitting boxers going at it in front of a massive crowd.
