Derevyanchenko - on the defeat of Mbilli: "I injured my arm, but still kept fighting"

Former middleweight title challenger Ukrainian veteran Serhiy Derevyanchenko summarized his fight against Frenchman Christian Mbilli in the main event of an evening of boxing in Quebec City, Canada.

The fight went the full distance of 10 rounds and ended with Mbilli winning by unanimous decision (100-90, 99-91 and 98-92).

"I didn't want to lose. I injured my hand but I still kept fighting. My legs were fine, but I only had one arm. I had to move around a lot because as soon as I stopped, my opponent threw a series of punches. In the last round, I tried to punch with both hands, but it was difficult. At a certain point I tried to punch with my left hand, but I realized I couldn't do it. I realized it was a problem," Derevyanchenko stated.
