Interim WBC light heavyweight champion David Benavides shared his thoughts on the upcoming unification fight in the division between Dmitry Bivol and Arutr Beterbiev.
"They're both incredibly talented fighters. But they are completely different. Bivol is a boxer, he moves a lot, he's solid on his feet. Beterbiev is a fucking train, he comes at you, gets punched and punches back.
The way I see their fight... Bivol can hurt Beterbiev because Artur Beterbiev was hurt by Alexander Gvozdik. I've sparred with Gvozdik and Bivol, and Dmitry Bivol hits harder. If Bivol stays on his feet for all 12 rounds, uses his jab, imposes his game, he has a good chance of winning. But if Beterbiev starts his engine full blast, it's a fucking train wreck. He has 19 knockouts in 19 fights. So it's a 50/50 chance," Benavides told Sean Zittel.
Bivol and Beterbiev are expected to fight on October 12 in Saudi Arabia.
