Bogachuk told what surprised him Fundora in the sparring sessions

Interim WBC interim middleweight champion Sergiy Bogachuk recalled his sparring sessions with Sebastian Fundora, the WBC and WBO titleholder in his division.

"What surprised me is that he is unconventional, something that surprises all his sparring partners and opponents. You look and see one thing, but in a fight you feel something completely different. People just don't understand. At first even I couldn't imagine how a man with such anthropometric data could box like that. Not only is he tough, but he can also punch sometimes. He is a very unconventional, very strong boxer.

As they say, looks can be deceiving. That's what they say. I'll tell you more: he doesn't make weight. He's at that weight. He eats normally - whether it's metabolism or worms, I don't know. He's very uncomfortable. There's a simple tactic: with long boxers, you go in and work close. But with him, you go in close and he punches back. It's very unconventional.
