Former world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko honored the memory of his legendary trainer Emanuel Steward, who would have turned 80 today, July 7.
"Today I would like to pay a heartfelt tribute to legend, friend, mentor and father Emanuel Steward. Today would have been my friend's 80th birthday.
I am very grateful for everything you have done for me and for boxing in general. You were a fiery individual with an impeccable work ethic. I was fortunate to be one of the 41 champions you trained during your incredible career. We have come a long way, winning titles and belts all over the world.
R.I.P. Coach, I promise to keep my left hand up and keep punching until we meet again. Love you man!", Klitschko wrote on Instagram.
