WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson, who will fight Artem Harutyunyan this weekend in his last fight under contract with Top Rank, has criticized the head of his promotional company Bob Arum.
"Basically, Bob Arum is trying to say, 'Top Rank or nothing.' He's trying to say, 'I don't have any other options but Top Rank.' It's like, 'Go look at the market and come back to us.' I think Bob should just shut his mouth since he's not really even running his own company.
I don't know what's going to happen next. I'm not ruling anything out. At the end of the day it's a business. Top Rank and I look at it the same way. If the business makes sense, then I'm willing to work. If it doesn't, then it doesn't make sense. I know and understand my worth. I'm no longer a 19-year-old kid coming from the Olympics. I'm now a grown man who will become one of the legendary and best fighters in history in the coming years. That's my value," - quotes Stevenson BoxingScene.
Recall that the bout Stevenson vs. Harutyunyan will take place on July 6 in the American Newark.
