Lopez Sr. reacted to his son's win over Claggett

Teofimo Lopez Sr, father and trainer of WBO World Welterweight Champion Teofimo Lopez, commented on his son's win against Steve Claggett.

"Everybody saw the power of my son. This guy withstood his punches very well. We knew before this fight that he had never lost early, that he could hold his punches. We worked more on the body punches. There were body punches in the fight, there were all the punches.

I can't take anything away from Teofimo, he did a great job. We won all the rounds. I don't see this guy taking even one round, and the judges' notes speak for themselves how great a performance Teofimo put on. This guy was throwing punches all the time, and it's not easy to beat an opponent like that. To fight a guy like that, you have to be in good shape. I think Teofimo Lopez did a great job," Teofimo Lopez Sr. said in an interview with YouTube channel Fight Hub TV.

Recall that this morning Lopez defeated Claggett by unanimous decision of the judges in the main event of the evening of boxing in Miami.
