Hearn: "If Wilder had announced he was finishing, it would have been the right thing to do"

The head of Matchroom Boxing's promotional company Eddie Hearn expressed his opinion that former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder will not be able to get his career back on a successful track.

"I don't think anyone has the right to tell Deontay Wilder that he should end his career. But honestly, I think we'll never again see him at the same level he's shown before.

If he announced that he was ending it would be the right thing to do. He could fight at a low level for two or three more years, but I do not think he is interested in it," - quotes Hearn publication Boxing Scene.

Recall that on June 1 in the main event of the evening of boxing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Wilder lost by technical knockout to Zhang Zhilei. For the 38-year-old American, this defeat was the second consecutive defeat.
