Klitschko reacts to Usyk's historic victory over Fury

Former world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko commented on the victory of Oleksandr Usyk over Tyson Fury.

"This historic victory is not just important for Oleksandr Usyk. Can you imagine the pressure this man has felt in recent weeks and here in the ring? Unequivocally defeat was not an option. Usyk once showed that he was a great cruiserweight. But what surprised people even more was that no matter how big, tall, heavy, long-armed and agile Tyson Fury was, Oleksandr Usyk showed that he was the best fighter in modern history. I'm very proud of Oleksandr Usyk and very proud to be Ukrainian.

When you count points, you can't be 100 percent sure of boxing. The judges decided that Oleksandr Usyk deserved to win this fight. Definitely an outstanding performance from both fighters. I'm surprised how Tyson Fury was able to make it from the ninth round to the end of the fight, but he did it. Let's give him some respect. More importantly, Oleksandr stayed solid and did what he had to do to become the heavyweight champion of the world. Ukrainian world heavyweight champion," said Klitschko.

Recall that on the night of May 19, Usyk defeated Fury by split decision of judges and became the absolute world champion in heavyweight.
