UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria assessed the likelihood of a fight against the holder of the belt a division above Islam Makhachev.
"A fight against Makhachev? Maybe in the future. Maybe if Islam continues to defend the belt, if he becomes more and more tough fighter, then one day we will meet in the octagon. But at the moment Islam is not on my list," Topuria said in an interview with Sportskeeda.
Recall that Topuria won the title in February at UFC 298 by knocking out Alexander Volkanovski. Recently, the Georgian said that he will make his debut defense at the promotion's first tournament in Spain, but neither the date of the show nor the name of a possible opponent the fighter did not disclose.
