“He will be surprised by my strength,” states Devin Haney (30-0, 15 KOs), who will move up from lightweight to super lightweight to challenge the WBC title Regis Prograis (29-1, 24 KOs) on Saturday night.

“He only relies on his punch, hoping to physically crush me. However, I focus on my ring IQ, experience and boxing skills. After all, I'm not some random guy from the mountain or a new kid on the street. I have met the best, and Prograis will be surprised by my strength. With the transition to a heavier weight category, I myself gained strength,” said the American, until recently the absolute lightweight champion.

“I’m not interested in unifying the super lightweight titles, I’ll just be hunting for the best possible fights for the big money. I believe that at 63.5 kilograms I will be faster, better and stronger. People don't even realize what a difference five pounds can make. I no longer train to lose those last few pounds, but to become a better person. And I’ve been boxing at lightweight since I was seventeen,” Haney added.
