Amanda Serrano, the undisputed featherweight world champion, to relinquish her WBC title. She took this step after the organization did not allow her to fight according to the rules of 12 rounds of 3 minutes.

"I like boxing. IĀ gave my life to this sport. No phone, no boyfriend, no parties. Only boxing. I am the only boxer, regardless of gender, from Puerto Rico to become an undisputed champion. I am the only female boxer to have won titles in seven divisions. I am the first absolute champion who fought in the format of 12 rounds of three minutes. If a sanctioning body does not want to give me and my colleagues the choice to fight the same as men, then I will not fight for that sanctioning body. The WBC has refused to develop the sport for theĀ benefit of equality. So Iā€™m relinquishing their title,ā€ Amanda said.

Let us remind you that confrontations in womenā€™s boxing are most often held in the format of 10 rounds of 2 minutes each.
