Beneil Dariush, number four in the lightweight rankings, reported that he was offered a fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 295, but Dustin never responded anything about the fight.
“Actually, I got a call a couple of weeks ago about the fight at UFC 295 with Dustin Poirier. They called me and asked, “Hey, do you mind?” I said, “Yes, of course. “I have a good weight, I’m in training camp and I can fight with Dustin Poirier.” They replied: “Okay, we’ll get in touch.” However, this did not happen, and they called me again, asking about the appointment of the fight on December 2. I answered positively, waited, but nothing happened. Then they told me that they would leave the fight with Arman and it would be a five-round fight. I have never heard anything from the other side. I don’t understand at all what happened to Dustin. I would have liked to hear what he had to say about this, but either no one asked him or he didn’t mention it himself.”
