The head coach of the AKA gym, Javier Mendez, remembered how the former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez reacted to the ending of the title fight a division lower between Jon Jones And Daniel Cormier in 2017.

Let us remember that Jones then managed to land an accurate high kick, after which he finished off Cormier for a long time until referee John McCarthy gave the go-ahead. According to Mendez, Velasquez was so angry about the late stoppage that he wanted to go into the Octagon and hit the judge in the back.

“John McCarthy allowed Jones to finish off Cormier for too long. Kane was so angry then that he wanted to go into the Octagon and hit McCarthy in the back.

Yes, he was very upset and I don’t blame Kane. Don't get me wrong, "Big John" is a great referee, but he screwed up at that point. Kane simply told him: “Man, you’re taking this too long,” the Sportskeeda specialist was quoted as saying.

It is worth noting that just days after the fight, Jones failed a doping test, as a result of which his rematch with Cormier was declared invalid.
