UFC rated heavyweight Curtis Blades told why he was forced to abandon the fight with Gilton Almeida, which was supposed to take place on November 5 at the UFC Fight Night 231 tournament in Sao Paulo.

“In June, I twisted my ankle during a wrestling match. Two weeks later I returned to the gym, I thought I would recover quickly, but I’m no longer young. My body doesn’t work like that anymore.

It was only in early October that I realized that the discomfort was not going away and that I was seriously injured. That’s why I had to withdraw from the fight,” Middle Easy quotes the American.

Let us remember that as a result, Almeida met with Derrick Lewis, whom he defeated by unanimous decision in an extremely boring fight.
