Tom Aspinall, the new interim UFC heavyweight champion, did not plan to humiliate Sergei Pavlovich, placing a hand on his shoulder before the fight began.

“I don’t even know - I saw a couple of photos and memes, and it really looked strange, but I had no intention of humiliating Sergei... This is my job, and I don’t feel any negativity towards my rivals. I respect everyone who plays this sport. Now I understand that it looked strange on camera, but I was just trying to show him my respect before the fight, that’s all,” the fighter said.

Let us remember that Aspinall knocked out Pavlovich in the co-main event of UFC 295 in just over a minute of the first round.
