Lewis revealed why he refused a rematch with Klitschko after an epoch-making fight

Legendary British heavyweight Lennox Lewis shared his memories of the fight against the Ukrainian Vitali Klitschko.

Let us remind you that the fight took place in June 2003 and ended with Lewis’s victory by technical knockout in the sixth round - the doctor did not allow Klitschko continue the fight due to a serious cut.

“Vitaly used his clumsiness to good effect. Everyone said I should have fought him again, but he was the icing on my retirement cake.

I accepted this fight in no time. If you look at my mental readiness and physical preparation, I could not carry out that fight perfectly. I beat him at my worst, so there was no point in a rematch. He definitely experienced my uppercuts,” Lewis said in an interview with The Ring.
