Interim WBC super middleweight title holder David Benavidez commented on the decision of the absolute world champion in his division Saul Alvarez fight in the next match against Jaime Munguia.
“I’m not happy that Canelo will fight Munguia in his next fight. As I have always said, there is nothing I can do about it. Canelo does whatever he wants.
If Alvarez fights Munguia on May 5th, it will be a good fight. This will be a good fight for the fans, for the Mexican people. Two Mexicans will fight. But I think everyone wants to see me fight Canelo. I don't think the fans will be satisfied until they get this fight. “I’ll just continue to do what I do and work hard to win my fights, and then we’ll move step by step,” Boxing Social quotes Benavidez.
Let us remind you that earlier ESPN journalist Salvador Rodriguez reported that Alvarez plans to fight with Munguia in May, and with the winner of the David Benavidez-Demetrius Andrade fight in September.
