Poirier agreed to replace Oliveira

Dustin Poirier, the UFC's top lightweight, announced that he had agreed to replace Charles Oliveira and go to battle against Islam Makhacheva on short notice.

ā€œThey called andĀ I said I agree,ā€ Poirier said.

However, the UFC eventually settled on the organization's featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski. It is he who will replace Oliveira and fight with Makhachev in the main fight of UFC 294
