Shevchenko explained why the judges did not give her victory in the rematch with Grasso

Former UFC women's flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko blamed the judges for her failure to defeat the current title holder Alexa Grasso.

On the morning of September 17, in the main event of the UFC Fight Night 227 tournament in Las Vegas, USA, the Kyrgyz athlete had a rematch with the Mexican, to whom she lost ahead of schedule in March. This time the meeting went the full distance and ended in a draw via a split decision.

“I think I won 3-2, but the judges apparently felt pressure because of Mexico’s Independence Day and therefore gave another round to a fighter from that country.

I expected a battle, and that's exactly what I got. We started a war, I went to the end, and I think I did enough. In a fair fight, in a fair competition, I would have won,” Shevchenko said after the fight.
