St-Pierre will be the first MMA fighter to be inducted into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame

Former two-division UFC champion, 42-year-old George St. Pierre will be inducted into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame.

The ceremony will take place on October 19 in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. 

“I am honored to be inducted into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame and to receive the Order of Sport. Martial arts changed my life and I have been fortunate enough to represent Canada on the biggest stage in the world. “I want to thank the UFC and all my fans, because without them none of this would have been possible,” CityNews quotes St. Pierre. 

St-Pierre is widely considered one of the greatest fighters in MMA history. The famous Canadian has 26 wins and two losses in his professional career.
