Bill Haney: "Stevenson asks 50/50"

Bill Haney, father and coach of the undisputed lightweight champion Devina Haney, in an interview, Thaboxingvoice commented on an audio recording in which he discusses a possible fight between his son and Shakur Stevenson. “Are they now secretly recording conversations? What's going on?.. That was more than four years ago. We have never competed at 130 pounds, and I was talking about Shakur. If we go up to 140 pounds and it's interesting there, then we'll go from 130 to 140. Interesting means an interesting fight. If the fight is interesting, go to 140 and fight. We never said that we would not fight Shakur. Today I annoy Shakur. He is a scammer, he is a fake. He's around here somewhere, recording, you bastard."

Bill Haney also stated that Shakur Stevenson wanted a 50-50 split of the total fee in a possible fight with his son. Prior to this, Haney offered Stevenson 75 to 25 in his favor. “It has never happened before that the undisputed champion agreed 50-50 with the usual contender,” said Bill Haney.
