Garcia on Joshua's criticism of first coach: 'The man made him unified champion'

Anthony Joshua

Robert Garcia, former world heavyweight champion coach Anthony Joshua, commented on the British boxer's critical remarks about his first mentor Robert McCracken.

“I heard that Joshua does not do justice to his first coach. This man made him an Olympic gold medalist, a unified world champion. This guy deserves a lot of respect. I don't know him personally, but based on what he did and achieved with Anthony, most of the laurels should be given to him.

Joshua only had one fight with Derrick James. I have repeatedly said that he is an excellent coach, I respect him very much, but one victory does not mean that everything has changed dramatically. I didn't see Joshua fight Jermaine Franklin but everyone told me he didn't look great," Garcia said in an interview with Little Giant Boxing.

Recall that earlier Joshua accused McCracken of not teaching him how to defend himself.
