In December, a unification fight in the second bantamweight division between the WBC and WBO world champions will take place in Japan Naoya Inoue (25-0, 22 KOs) and the owner of IBF and WBA belts Marlon Tapales (37-3, 19 KOs).
The Japanese made his debut in a new weight category in July, defeating Stephen Fulton ahead of schedule. In April, the Filipino won on points against Murodjon Akhmadaliyev.
Unification talks have already begun. If they are successful, Inoue will have a chance to become the undisputed champion in the second weight category.
