Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua commented on the defeat of his teammate Errol Spence in battle against Terence Crawford.
“This is not the Errol we know. I know he will get better. I had a lot of respect for Terence Crawford before the fight, but "Bud" is an elite fighter, and so is Errol. I know it wasn't the same guy I had watched many times before. I didn't see everything in his training camp because we trained at different times, but I saw how hard he worked.
In terms of his performance, I think they should be confident in a rematch if they fix what went wrong in training camp. In that case, I think Spence will give Crawford a much tougher fight.
Errol didn't fall on his back, didn't get knocked out. He was stopped on his feet, so let them have a rematch. Let's do it again. I think they definitely need to fight again. I don't think he needs to retire," Joshua said in an interview with FightHype.
