Cormier: Gaethje should focus on title fight

Former two-weight champion and UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier expressed the opinion that the former holder of the interim title in the lightweight division Justin Gaethje must forget about the box office match against Conor McGregor and fully focus on a potential meeting with the champion.

“Justin should focus on the opportunity to compete for the title, because he has always strived for this. He said this after the fight with Fiziev. So, right now he has a great chance to meet the winner of the rematch between Makhachev and Oliveira. I think he's ready for it.

Look how great he performed in fights with Fiziev and Porrier. We now see Gati in the best shape of his entire career. There's no doubt this guy is a top contender," Cormier told the DC & RC podcast.
