WBC Decision: Lightweight Championship Belt Vacant, Haney 'Champion on Vacation' Title

The WBC World Lightweight Championship belt has become vacant. This became known from the official statement of the organization. The WBC approved the request of the undisputed world lightweight champion Devina Haney change division. Thus, he will be able to move up to light welterweight and fight for the WBC world title in this division with Regis Prograis. At the same time, the WBC lightweight title held by Haney will be declared vacant, and Devin himself will receive the title of "champion on vacation".

This title will allow Haney out of turn to fight for the WBC lightweight title. The distribution of the fee in such a duel will be 50 to 50.

It is worth noting that the mandatory contender for the title of world lightweight champion is Shakur Stevenson. And as of July 17, the first number of the rating is Vasily Lomachenko.
