WBA clears world featherweight champion Lee Voodoo (27-3, 16 KOs) to defend the belt with Josh Warrington (31-2-1, 8 KOs). The fight will take place on October 7 in Sheffield.

The winner will have 120 days to make a mandatory title defense against Otabek Kholmatov (11-0, 10 KOs). However, there is no certainty that the best of the Wood-Warrington pair will not leave the belt vacant in order to avoid a fight with a little-known opponent.

Warrington lost on points to Luis Alberto Lopez in his last professional appearance. In May, Wood won a rematch against Mauricio Lara.
