Gerald Washington (20-5-1, 13 KOs) fought or sparred with almost everyone in the heavyweight division for many years. He also had to deal with Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs), who will meet on August 26 at the Wroclaw stadium.
Washington, a former WBC contender, sparred with both and confidently named his favorite.
“I heard that Dubois hits hard, but this fight is not about that, but about who is harder to hit. I sparred with both, and everything in this fight speaks in favor of Usyk. I even think Usyk can stop Dubois in the final rounds,” Washington said.
The Ukrainian is the reigning IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion. The Englishman, on the other hand, is the mandatory challenger for the WBA.
