Rocha beat Young ahead of schedule

Alexis Rocha (23-1, 15 KOs) knocked out Anthony Young (24-3, 8 KOs) in the fifth round in the main event of the boxing evening from Golden Boy Promotions in Indio, USA. At stake was the WBO NABO welterweight belt.

The 25-year-old boxer, who is the official contender for the WBO world champion title, went very actively forward from the first gong. Young tried to keep up with the boxer from California, but could not keep up the pace, and after a series of left punches in the fifth round, he was on the floor and the fight was stopped.

As part of the same evening, Oscar Collazo (7-0, 5 KOs) defeated Melvin Jerusalem (20-3, 12 KOs) by TKO in the seventh round and won the WBO belt in the minimum weight (up to 47.6 kg).
