Wood took revenge on Lara

In the main event of the Matchroom Boxing evening in Manchester Lee Wood (27-3, 16 KOs) in a very one-sided and unspectacular fight won by unanimous decision Mauricio Laru (26-3-1, 19 KOs) and regained the WBA featherweight title. After twelve rounds, the judges gave the victory to the Englishman with a score of 116-111 and twice 118-109.

The Mexican was on the floor in the second round. The Englishman thus took revenge for the defeat suffered in February and became the world champion for the second time. The title was at stake in this fight only for Wood, since the day before Lara could not meet the weight limit.

As part of the same evening, Terri Harper (14-1-1, 6 KOs) defeated Ivana Khabazin (21-5, 7 KOs) by unanimous decision and defended her WBA welterweight belt. The judges after the final gong counted in her favor 98-92 and twice 97-93.
