Sampson Levkovich said that the negotiations for a contract for the fight between Saul Alvarez (59-2-2, 39 KOs) and David Benavidez (27-0, 23 KOs) are in full swing. The fight could take place on September 16 in the United States.

Representatives of the boxers met over the weekend to tentatively discuss financial terms. Further negotiations are expected within a few days, with Canelo hoping to secure a contract with another opponent next month.

A rematch with Dmitry Bivol is still a priority for Alvarez in the context of the September speech, but there is no agreement on this matter yet. Bivol would like the Mexican's super-middleweight belts to be on the line in the second fight, while Canelo demands the same conditions as in the first fight and a light heavyweight confrontation.
