Eddie Hearn said that if an agreement is not reached on a rematch between Saul Alvarez (59-2-2, 39 KOs) and Dmitry Bivol (21-0, 11 KOs), the Mexican will face David Benavidez (27-0.23 KOs) in September.

With four super middleweight belts, Canelo will fight his next professional fight on September 16. The terms of this performance should be determined by the end of June.

Alvarez wants a rematch with Bivol at light heavyweight, but Bivol prefers a second bout at 76 kg. Benavidez is the interim WBC super middleweight champion and defeated Caleb Plant in his last fight.
