"I think I'm just better than Bivol," said Saul Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs) a few dozen hours before the fight with John Ryder (32-5, 18 KOs). Victory in the upcoming fight should open the door for the Mexican to rematch with Dmitry Bivol (21-0, 11 KOs). Canelo will defend his four super middleweight titles tomorrow night, but he wants to face WBA light heavyweight title holder Bivol again in the future.
“If I beat him at super middleweight, I would listen all the time to people saying he didn’t fight at his best,” explained Canelo, who feels confident even at light heavyweight, where the Russian has spent his entire professional career.
"I'm better than him, watch the first five or six rounds. I dominated the first part of the fight. But then I didn’t train 100% and I was exhausted. That's why I want a rematch under the same conditions as in light heavyweight. I'm better than him and I want to prove it," Alvarez added.
