Lara Garcia on August 5 for WBA middleweight title

Erislandy Lara (29-3-3, 17 KOs) and Danny Garcia (37-3, 21 KOs) will fight for the WBA middleweight title on August 5 at the Premier Boxing Champions tournament in the USA.

The World Boxing Association has given special permission for this fight on the condition that the winner faces Michael Zerafa (31-4, 19 KOs) for the next 120 days. The Australian had previously reached a financial agreement with the Lara camp on this issue.

The Lara Garcia fight must take place within the contractual weight limit of 155 pounds. Garcia last fought in July last year, defeating José Benavidez. Lara last entered the ring in May last year.
