Davis knocked out Garcia with a body punch in the seventh round

Undefeated "Regular" WBA Lightweight Champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) knocked out in the seventh round "King" Ryan Garcia (23-1, 19 KOs) in the 136 lb catchweight non-title bout in the main event of the evening at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

After a slow first round, Garcia opened up in the second round, but Davis was able to send him to the floor with a left hook. After that, the fight took a tactical turn until Davis landed a short torso punch in the seventh round. Garcia knelt down and listened to the referee's countdown to the end. The time to stop the fight is 1:44.

At the time of the knockout, Davis was leading all three judges: 58-56, 59-56, 59-55. According to the official notes, the judges gave an interesting assessment of the second round. Despite Garcia's knockdown, none of them scored 10-8. Dave Moretti rated this three-minute session 10-10, while Steve Weisfeld and Tim Cheatham rated it 10-9 in favor of Tank.
