UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya after returning his title, he stated that he was not going to cross again to the octagon with Alex Pereira.
On the morning of April 9 at UFC 287 in Miami, USA, Adesanya knocked out Pereira in the second round, avenging his defeat in November last year. Prior to this, the New Zealand Nigerian lost twice more to the Brazilian in kickboxing.
“I do not keep score, this matter is closed. I settled my issues with Pereira. I gave him the opportunity to quickly fight for the belt, although I could say: “No, who did this guy even fight with?”. And yet he fought with top opponents, knocked out Strickland.
I got immediate revenge because of my achievements in sports. He worked hard and earned the right to revenge. Now he will have to work hard, but I doubt that Alex will do it. Let him go and create problems at light heavyweight. This guy is very difficult to deal with,” Adesanya said at a press conference.
