Undefeated former world champion in two weight divisions Shakur Stevenson cemented his chances of reaching the WBC lightweight title fight by defeating Shuichiro Yoshino by technical knockout in the sixth round.

“He felt my strength,” Stevenson said after the fight. — I gave him a couple of blows and sent him to the floor. To be honest, I wished the referee would let us continue. I just got my second wind. I was going to knock him out."

“The main name of Newark is “Bricks”. And today I had a brick in my hands. We've done what we had to do, settled our business, and now we're going to enjoy our vacation with the family."

“Just tell all the other lightweights to get ready. I am waiting for them. I can't wait for them to finish their scheduled fights and for my turn to come. Tell Devin Haney to get ready. I've been waiting for this fight for a very long time, I swear to God. Devin and I have been in the ring with each other for many years, and always gave him a fight, ”Stevenson said.
