Joshua: Mike Tyson didn't knock everyone out either

Anthony Joshua (25-3, 22 KOs) promised to knock out Jermain Franklin, but now he is trying to find positive sides as a result of the full distance and twelve rounds.

“In the fight with Klitschko, I went to the war of exhaustion and in the fifth round I was looking for a knockout, until the eleventh round he lived only because I did not have enough stamina. Combat experience is the best boxing teacher. My problem is that others reach their peak in fights with me. They are so motivated that it is almost impossible to knock them out. But I know that I have to be smart in the ring. After all, Mike Tyson, being at the peak of his career, also went through 12 rounds and did not win all of them ahead of schedule. So I don’t quite understand where the criticism came from for not knocking out Franklin,” said the former two-time world champion and gold medalist of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Joshua returns to Texas next week to train for his next fight under Derrick James. Promoter Eddie Hearn believes that he will face one of the following trio: Dillian Whyte (29-3, 19 KOs), Otto Wallin (25-1, 14 KOs) or Joe Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs).
