Thirty-five years plus a weaker, although ultimately won battle with Jamaine Ortiz, mean that few people bet on Vasily Lomachenko (17-2, 11 KOs) against Devin Haney (29-0, 15 KOs). However, the Ukrainian assures his fans of the opposite.

On May 20, at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, the American will make his second defense of all four lightweight championship belts. Three of them once belonged to Lomachenko, but it seems that his career has already begun to decline. Although the Ukrainian himself has a slightly different picture of his last fights.

“Ortiz is a fast and very talented boxer, but everyone seems to have forgotten that he was also my regular sparring partner. We went through many rounds together and got to know each other well. It bothered me. I think he will create big problems at lightweight for any opponent, ”said Lomachenko.

“The fight with Haney is the most important in my career because it is also my last chance to become the undisputed lightweight champion. I don't think about the future at all and I won't talk about it, I'm just focused on this fight. I am very motivated and this fight is so interesting because it feels so close and equal. No excuses, it's time to fight Haney," Lomachenko said.
