Joshua Buatsy (16-0, 13 KOs) stopped working with Matchroom Boxing, with which he had worked since the beginning of his professional career, and signed a promotional contract with the Boxxer stable. Buatsi will return to the ring on May 6 at a boxing evening in Birmingham.

Recently, the Briton turned down an offer to fight Dmitry Bivol. Buatsi could have earned over £1 million for a WBA light heavyweight title fight, but his trainer Virgil Hunter didn't agree to such a fight. Hunter openly stated that the Englishman was not yet ready for such a serious challenge.

The main motive for changing promoters for Buatsi was the desire to continue his career at Sky Sports, with which Ben Shalom's group currently works. Hearn's Matchroom has partnered with DAZN.

“I want people to say, ‘We know which channel to turn on. I'm not going to tell you that you need to download the application, enter your email there. After my last fight, I asked myself, “How many people watched it?” I didn’t think that very many, ”said Buatsi.
