Former world champion Paul Malignaggi spoke about the upcoming fight between the undisputed world champion in lightweight Devin Haney (29-0, 15 KOs) and Vasily Lomachenko (17-2, 11 KOs).
“I think this fight will tell us a little more about Haney if he can rise to a higher level before moving up to light welterweight. I don’t think that Lomachenko is finally finished.
Vasily has unfinished business. He was supposed to get a fight with Kambosos, but refused it because of the war. So I think Lomachenko feels that the only reason Haney won the title is because of him. I think he thinks so. He's going to get what belongs to him. So there are a lot of intangible things in this fight. I'm looking forward to their fight. I think if Haney beats Lomachenko, it will be a very good victory.
I know the critics will say that Loma was a little old, but that doesn't matter. Lomachenko, even in his current form, is better than any opponent in Haney's career, ”said Malignaggi.
Earlier it was reported that Lomachenko and Haney agreed to fight on May 20 in Las Vegas.
