Former UFC welterweight title contender Stephen Thompson spoke about training with the ex-champion in two divisions Conor McGregor

“Firstly, he looks great for someone who has recovered from such a serious injury (a broken leg — ed.). He is in such a mood as if this never happened.

He returns to his roots. McGregor never did karate in his life, but he trained with many karatekas and adopted his style from them. In this style, Conor fought Jose Aldo - wide stance, excellent speed.

Now he's back to it. And even at a heavier weight, which is scary... I think Conor listened to the fans. In recent fights, he fought in boxing style. He needs to get back to his roots and that's what we'll see from McGregor the next time he enters the cage," Thompson was quoted as saying by MMA News.

Recall that McGregor will fight Michael Chandler next.
