“I will not bet on a knockout,” claims Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs) about the upcoming fight on April 22 in Las Vegas against Gervonts Davis (28-0, 26 KOs). "The advantage is on our side," adds Garcia's coach Joe Goossen.

“He can't do anything to me. I'm putting all my energy into this fight. I will put a lot of pressure on him. This fight was originally supposed to take place in December last year, so I had to cancel the October date. I really did a lot to make this fight happen. Mario Barrios, an opponent physically similar to me, won the first rounds against Davis. But I hit harder than Barrios and I'm better than him as a boxer. I promise I'll check Davis' jaw. He will have to prove that he really has the mentality of a champion, ”said Ryan Garcia.

“It wasn’t easy, but we found the antidote to the poison that kills boxing and made this the biggest fight possible. Now the words don't matter anymore, the truth will come out. Don't expect a knockout, in any case it will be a battle of characters and the one with the stronger mentality will win. So I'm getting ready for the full race," Garcia added.

“Someone will lose their zero in the defeat graph. Ryan is looking forward to this fight as he has been asking for it for a long time. I can’t say who will win in the end, but I’m sure that the fight will end in a knockout. They both hit too hard, so whoever hits first is likely to win," said Oscar De La Hoya, head of Golden Boy Promotions and Garcia's promoter.

“Ryan is 100 percent ready now and he will be 100 percent ready on fight day. I have worked with many great athletes over the years, but he is one of the special ones. He has great strength, he is an extremely explosive boxer. Sometimes I feel a power in my paws that is hard to describe, and I also see what he does with sparring partners. This is not an ordinary guy. I think the force of the blow will be on our side and will play a key role in this fight,” said Joe Goossen, Garcia’s coach.
