WBO calls for Crawford-Rocha fight

Alexis Rocha

Alexis Rocha (22-1, 14 KOs) was declared the official contender for the WBO welterweight title, which belongs to Terence Crawford (39-0, 39 KOs). The boxers' promoters were given 20 days to agree on organizing the fight.

Negotiations about this duel have been going on for several weeks. Rocha represents Golden Boy Promotions, and Crawford has been a free agent for over a year now.

Oscar De La Hoya is trying to sign Crawford to a multi-fight contract. In addition to the Rocha fight, the Golden Boy owner would like Crawford to fight Virgil Ortiz.
