“British boxers will not take part in the upcoming IBA World Championships. The decision reflects ongoing concerns about the future of boxing on the Olympic program, contrary to resolutions passed by the IOC in February and December 2022. This only widened the gap and distance between the IBA and the Olympic Movement.”
“There is no transparency in the management of the IBA, including financial management, which the IOC asked for in order to protect boxing's place in the Olympic program. The British Boxing Association condemns the Russian invasion of Ukraine and expresses solidarity with the people, boxers and coaches of Ukraine,” the British team said in a statement.
