Ireland is following in the footsteps of the US team. Earlier, the Americans, and now the Irish, have announced a boycott of the men's and women's world championships in Olympic boxing, which is held by the International Boxing Association (IBA), sponsored by the Russian Gazprom, respectively, and the Russian Umar Kremlev remains the director.

Earlier, the IBA allowed Russians and Belarusians to participate in world championships, moreover, under their own flags. The Americans were the first to react to this and announced a boycott of such events. The Irish made the same decision today. Male and female boxers, as well as referees and other officials will not participate in the World Championship.

Interestingly, in connection with this, the “concerned” Kremlin said that he could financially help American athletes take part in the IBA championship.

Each world champion among men, as stated, will receive 200 thousand dollars. The prize money for the champions is $100,000. It is not yet known whether other countries will join this boycott following the United States and Ireland.
