Benavidez-Plant on March 25 for WBC interim title

Interim World Super Middleweight Champion David Benavidez (26-0, 23 KOs) and Caleb Plant (22-1, 13 KOs) will meet on March 25 in Las Vegas. The fight will be shown in the United States on the Showtime channel in a paid broadcast.

In October, Plant defeated Anthony Dirrell ahead of schedule in the World Boxing Council eliminator in the weight category up to 76 kg. The full champion in this division is Saul Alvarez, who is expected to return to the ring in May.

Benavidez, 25, has held the WBC title since May. The American won the title by defeating Canadian David Lemieux ahead of schedule.
