World boxing legend Roy Jones commented on the decision of the ex-world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) to work with American specialist Derrick James.
“Derrick James is a great coach, he does great things with Errol Spence. He achieved more than people could have predicted. That's why I think James will be a great coach. I told Joshua that if there is good chemistry with someone, then he needs to make a choice in favor of this person.
I think that James is exactly the right person. He can help Joshua in terms of confidence and skill. Errol Spence puts pressure in fights and I think James will be a great teacher for Joshua as Anthony needs to learn how to press. He is more dangerous when he puts pressure on him. So I think they fit together. If I had known at first that Joshua was considering James, I would have directly told him that they would be a good tandem, ”Jones said in an interview with DAZN.
