Naoya Inoue announced that he would leave the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO bantamweight titles vacant, as he would fight in the bantamweight next fight and try to become a champion in his fourth weight category.
“I would like to announce that I am leaving the belts of four sanctioning organizations vacant,” Inoue said at a press conference in Yokohama, Japan. - Each belt is memorable for me, but in 2023 I would like to move up one weight category and challenge a new division. 53 kg is the ideal weight for me, but in this category I have nothing else to do, and there is no opponent I want to fight.”
